What will I learn?

Strong accounting and financial management sit at the heart of every successful organisation. In a world shaped by economic uncertainty, regulatory scrutiny and growing expectations around governance and sustainability, organisations need professionals who can interpret financial information critically and use it to inform sound strategic decisions. The MSc Finance and Accounting at Nottingham Business School is designed to develop exactly that capability. You’ll build a rigorous understanding of accounting and financial frameworks alongside the principles of corporate finance, financial analysis and market regulation. Through applied case studies, interactive learning and engagement with contemporary research, you’ll learn how accounting and finance work together to support organisational performance, accountability and long-term value creation. This course prepares you to operate as a confident and critical contributor within management teams - able to question assumptions, evaluate evidence and apply financial insight across complex business contexts. In your final semester, you’ll complete an experiential project aligned to your career ambitions. Choose between a consultancy project with an organisation or a business research project, applying your knowledge in a practical setting and strengthening your professional profile for accounting, finance and management-focused careers.
