What will I learn?

The course combines the theoretical knowledge you would expect at master's level with the practical elements you will need to succeed in your career. It has a strong emphasis on the behavioural and leadership skills that will make a positive difference, wherever you work.If you are a conscientious and committed professional looking for accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), you will join around 40 like-minded people from London, the UK, Europe and further afield. And, with our contacts and support, you will build a network that will help you throughout the rest of your career.On this course you will learn the key components of the HRM practitioner's role, and you should come with an open mind and a willingness to engage with the very wide variety of content you’ll be presented with. The areas you will cover include managing people, recruitment, employment law, leadership and employee relations. You will also study management, strategy and training and development.This is a practical course, so you will take part in a large number of behavioural development and reflective exercises. This will involve weekend workshops on-campus, where you’ll be expected to put into practice some of the skills you need as an HR professional.This HRM Master's qualification will open doors to the profession in the public, private or voluntary sector. All companies and organisations thrive or fail according to the quality of their people and with your MA you will be well placed to make a strategic contribution.You will have a breadth and depth of knowledge that will make you an attractive proposition to employers, able to combine a theoretical and practical approach to make a positive difference.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need 2.2 honours degree in any subject. They will normally expected to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths. We will consider Degree-equivalent professional qualifications e.g. Certificate in Professional Practice (CPP) and two years managerial or HR work experience
