Summary

Course overview

Developing highly skilled evidence-based physiotherapists equipped to face the challenges of an evolving profession.

The MSc in Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) is a qualifying course for graduates with a suitable and relevant first degree seeking to train as a Physiotherapist. The course is two years full-time, starting in September.

The aim of the course is to provide a challenging and rewarding educational experience that enables students to develop as competent, evidence-based and patient-centred physiotherapy practitioners, capable of making a valuable contribution to their chosen workplace.

As part of the course you will experience a range of diverse and exciting placements including our own on-site healthcare-focused clinic, where you will gain a variety of experiences with a wide range of client groups, under the guidance of skilled clinicians.

Each student will gain experience of physiotherapy within various clinical and private practice settings. With the support of clinical educators, students will treat patients, observe experienced clinicians and participate in all aspects of care including case conferences, ward rounds and home visits.

Assessment

The course utilises a range of contemporary approaches to assessing learning, whilst also seeking to develop key applied skills and communication approaches. So alongside more traditional dissertation and essay assessments students will also write blogs, produce short videos, engage with social media, write consultancy reports, engage in case conferences, role plays and debates.
