Summary

An Introduction to the Department

The School of Pharmacy has a long and established track record of research, working with a wide variety of industrial and academic partners to achieve significant social and economic benefits. We use the Chemical Analysis Facility and the Hopkins labs at the University to carry out our research and offer external opportunities through our collaborations with Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, Oxford University Hospitals Trust, and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Entry requirement for international students

To be accepted on our PhD programme, you will need a Bachelor's degree of at least 2.1 level (or equivalent), or a master's degree, in a subject related to your proposed PhD research topic. If you are from outside of the UK, you will also need to demonstrate you have a certain level of proficiency with written and spoken English. If you are from outside of the UK, you will also need to demonstrate you have a certain level of proficiency with written and spoken English. In some areas of the University (particularly in the arts, humanities, social sciences and business) applicants are normally only accepted if they have a master's level qualification. The majority of PhD programmes require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 however, some areas require a score of 7.0 these are: Henley Business School (with the exception of Business Informatics and Systems Accounting which accepts 6.5), School of Arts and Communication Design, School of Humanities, School of Languages Literature and European Studies and Institute of Education.

Eligibility requirements:

One accommodation scholarship for St Patrick's Hall with an approximate value of £5100 for international or UK students studying on a full-time basis and offered admission to an MSc course in one of the following Science departments: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Food and Nutritional Sciences, Meteorology, and Pharmacy. To be considered for a scholarship you first need to apply for your chosen master's programme and receive an offer of admission.
