What will I learn?

Physics combines analytical reasoning and problem solving using the language of mathematics to understand the universe.If you have a deep desire to understand how everything works, from the subatomic quantum world to the vastness of the cosmos, then the BSc Physics degree at Swansea is the course for you. You will learn physical concepts and mathematical techniques and apply them to understand advances in quantum information, cosmology, semiconductors, lasers, medical, nuclear & particle physics.You will have the opportunity to work on advanced projects, often at the cutting edge of research in these fields, under the supervision of internationally recognised academics.Our graduates have become data scientists, AI engineers, demand forecasters, quantitative finance analysts, electromagnetic signature analysts, cost draftsmen, patent examiners and software engineers in sectors which include government research, the private sector, aerospace, defence, energy, engineering and space exploration.

Entry requirements

For international students

A levels: grades ABB-BBB including Maths and Physics. Welsh Baccalaureate: Requirements are as for A levels where you can substitute the same non-subject specific grade for the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Level Core Grade.BTEC: DDM plus A-level grade B in Physics. Applicants may also be expected to demonstrate knowledge of mathematics at A Level.Scottish Highers: ABBBC to include B in Mathematics and Physics.International Baccalaureate: 32 overall with 5 in Higher Level Maths and Physics.
