What will I learn?
The BA (Hons) Visual Design program offers students an exciting and varied experience in both physical and digital design applications. It covers a range of topics, including graphic design, editorial design, web design, digital photography, film and video technology, animation, and Augmented and Virtual Reality. In the final year, students undertake a self-directed design proposal, giving them the opportunity to develop their own ideas under the guidance of their Programme Leader or Unit Leader. The program's structure is well-designed, incorporating practical units with theory units in cultural studies, culminating in a Major Project in Year 3. The teaching of these units is delivered through a series of individual and group projects that are studio-based and guided by subject tutors. The program is supported by guest speakers, industry mentors, field trips, and supervised sessions within specialized labs and library resources. Collaboration and team building are emphasized throughout the program, helping students develop research, communication, and problem-solving skills.
