The Exploratory Studies (EXPL) program is designed for students who come to college not yet prepared to declare a specific major. Faculty teaching in the program help new students to adjust to the first year of college life and to begin the academic planning process. The program introduces this process by exploring students’ interests and researching possible majors and careers. EXPL uses an interactive curriculum to engage students in the process of discovering their academic strengths and interests and match those to an appropriate major. Trained advisors offer curricular planning, major selection and general assistance to ensure that students are successful.
