This two-year program provides the tools and skills necessary for you to become a registered nurse with no prior medical experience or training. You’ll learn the art and science of nursing in a variety of settings, including the classroom, the fully-equipped simulation hospital located on the SAC campus, and direct patient care in a hospital or other setting. You’ll learn standards of practice, patient care technologies and information systems, clinical reasoning skills, evidenced-based practice outcomes, and research-based policies and procedures to allow you to make decisions and provide comprehensive, safe patient care. You’ll also learn delegation, management and leadership skills, along with the values and ethics of the profession.
