B.A. in Classics - Greek and Latin

USA

4

What will I learn?

In this major, students read classical texts in both Greek and Latin. The program consists of six or seven courses in Greek beyond the elementary level, and the same number in Latin. It also includes two courses in prose composition, two in ancient history, and two in ancient art and architecture, as well as a senior project. Students are required to have a 2.5 GPA in all departmental courses and a 2.0 GPA in their other courses.

Many students who enter this major have studied Latin in high school, but this certainly does not have to be the case. The undergraduate advisor can easily help you plan an approach that involves beginning both your Latin and your Greek at Catholic
