What will I learn?

The History department offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in History and a Master of Arts degree in History. Many history majors also pursue a minor in another discipline, a second major, or secondary teacher certification. The department offers a variety of survey courses (2000 series) for first- and second-year students as either general education courses or as introductions to advanced courses in history or other subject areas. In addition to 2000-level survey courses, it offers advanced undergraduate courses in the history of Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, the United States, technology and science, agriculture, and other selected topics.

Entry requirements

For international students

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
