What will I learn?

The Public Relations Major provides students with the concepts, skills and expertise needed to help organizations build mutually beneficial relationships with a variety of publics. The knowledge and tools students develop through the PR curriculum ensure they can enter fields such as corporate communication, government affairs, and public relations. Coursework in this major focuses on writing, research, digital and emerging media, and professional abilities. Students are required to complete a capstone internship experience to practice and refine their skills. The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication prepares students for communication fields.

Entry requirements

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
