What will I learn?

Make a difference with a STEM-designated applied psychology degree from Pace University. Develop the interpersonal and counseling skills needed for careers in mental health, human resources, and social services. With mentorship from expert faculty, you’ll be prepared to excel in counseling, mental health advocacy, or social services, or continue your education in a specialized psychology field related to counseling or other areas of psychology. At Pace University, the applied psych degree equips you with the practical knowledge and interpersonal expertise to foster well-being and support communities. Learn key concepts in psychological testing, group dynamics, and human behavior that prepare you for graduate studies in counseling or related fields, or immediate employment in education and human services. Through practice-oriented coursework, you’ll explore cognitive psychology, social behavior, mental health, and child development. Gain hands-on experience through practicums, internships, and faculty-mentored research opportunities, collaborating with hospitals, community organizations, schools, and corporate environments. Engage in co-curricular experiences, including the annual Pace Psychology Conference and events hosted by the Psi Chi Honor Society. Two letters of recommendation (PDF) from a teacher or counselor who knows you well and can attest to your academic potential and personal characteristics.
