What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology has a liberal arts emphasis. To complete the B.A., students take courses that advance their understanding of human and animal behavior. They acquire competence in a second language, and they engage in problem-solving and in critical thinking. The Department of Psychology also offers a Concetration in Child Psychology within the Bachelor of Arts. View the My Osprey Map [Course Sequence Guide] to keep on track for graduation. Osprey Maps should be used in consultation with an academic advisor after admission to UNF. Psychology at UNF offers a substantive and dynamic curriculum where students have the option to earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. All programs share a common core of courses in research methodology, scientific inquiry, and professional development. Students can focus their studies on children and adolescents in the Child Psychology Concentration. Psychology is the scientific study of human and animal behavior. The Department of Psychology offers undergraduate (BA & BS) and graduate (MS) degree programs in psychology, and a BS program in behavioral neuroscience. Our full-time faculty are active researchers and offer opportunities for students to collaborate on research projects. UNF psychology faculty are highly qualified, caring and accessible individuals who are excellent teachers and researchers, committed to continued scholarship and service to the profession and to the local community.

Entry requirements

For international students

Application must have completed a high school.

English Language Proficiency:

A minimum TOEFL score of 79 internet-based (550 paper-based or 213 computer-based); A minimum overall Duolingo score of 110 is recommended for admission. Individual programs may require higher scores and all sub scores will be considered; A score of 3 on the College Board Advanced Placement – International English Language (AP-IEL); AP grades range from 5 high to 1 low; 3 equals “Qualified”; or A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS (International English Language Testing System); band scores range from 9 high to 1 low; 6.5 lies between 6 “competent user” and 7 “good user.”
