Honors students draw upon courses in major concentrations and complete an additional 12 units, or 3 courses, beyond the requirements of the major. In addition, students write an Honors Thesis incorporating both creative and critical components. ​Students will- Acquire a basic understanding of the literary, historical, social, or cultural influences that inform literary worksArticulate in writing and discussion responses to literary texts, regardless of the language of the texts or instructionDevelop a basic critical ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate ideas and formal features of an integrated body of literary textsDevelop a sensitivity to the plurality of meanings within a literary text
