The public law concentration is popular among those who are planning on or considering going to law school. Courses focus on constitutional law, judicial process, and judicial behavior.What will I learn?As a political science student, you’ll take a scientific approach to understanding institutions, policies, laws and more. This is a very flexible major, with only a few required courses. While many students take a general approach, you can also choose to focus on methodology and statistics (perfect for a career in polling), or select a concentration in areas such as American politics, comparative politics, international politics or public law, depending on your specific interests and career goals.

If you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school that prepare you to succeed at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale, and we expect applicants to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B, or 83 on a 100-point scale.
