What will I learn?

Goals and objectives for academic and artistic enrichment of the university and the extended community include: (1) offering curricula leading to a baccalaureate degree and graduate programs that provide students with the opportunity to realize their inherent musical potential, (2) offering degree options that recognize and nurture students’ abilities and talents to make contributions of excellence in the fields of music, and (3) preparing students for further graduate study and/or professional careers in music by meeting curricula criteria, performance standards, and academic expectations. Performance opportunities include everything from large and small ensembles, solo recitals, opera, musical theatre, studio recitals, student enrichment ensembles, and marching band.Music majors of all concentrations study with our faculty and can participate in any of our ensemble offerings. Brass and Percussion undergraduates may major in music performance, music education, music business/media, music theory, or composition. Graduates may major in music education, conducting, or performance. Private instruction is offered on all brass and percussion instruments by our faculty of artist-teachers, many of whom hold prestigious performance posts in the region.

A First-Year applicant to The University of Texas at Arlington must have graduated from an accredited high school or is on track to graduate from high school prior to enrollment at UT Arlington. Applicants must submit an application for admission, an application fee, and a high school transcript. GPA- 3.25
