What will I learn?

Make a musical difference in the lives of individuals, groups, families, and communities. The Bachelor of Music Therapy degree combines science, artistry, and caring and guides the development and refinement of musical, clinical, and interpersonal skills to address a range of non-musical, therapeutic goals. Successful graduates of the Bachelor of Music Therapy program will have demonstrated musical, therapeutic, clinical, professional /ethical and research competencies (as identified by the American Music Therapy Association) and completed a minimum of 1200 hours of clinical training (including a minimum of 900 hours full- time clinical training internship). Graduates are eligible to apply for the Music Therapist- Board Certified (MT-BC) credential that enables them to provide music therapy services in hospitals, schools, eldercare centers, hospices, community mental health, health promotion settings and with a variety of populations.

EMU admits students on a sliding scale based primarily on a combination of high school grade point average. If you have a high GPA, you may be admitted even if your test score is below our average. If you have a high test score, you may be admitted with a lower-than-average GPA.
