All Classical Voice auditions must be accompanied by a pianist. The CCPA Enrollment Office will provide an accompanist for all auditions in Chicago, although applicants may bring their own (except Opera Diploma auditions). Accompanists will NOT be provided at regional auditions in the U.S. or Asia. All voice applicants auditioning regionally must provide and pay for their own accompanist. All repertoire is to be performed from memory. No pre-screening recordings are required for undergraduate or masters level auditions. Freshman (BM): The applicant should sing three (3) appropriate pieces from classical repertoire across styles and languages (if possible) that demonstrate student ability and training to this point. Songs preferred. Golden Age Musical Theatre (pre-1965, or in the manner of) sung in a 'legit' vocal style may be included. Applicants are encouraged to present repertoire that demonstrates the quality and potential of the voice. Sophomore (BM): Three pieces: a song in English; a song in Italian; a song in German, French, or Spanish. A freshman applicant is defined as an individual who has completed or will complete a high school degree or its equivalent and has fewer than 12 transferrable college credit hours. The admission requirements for freshman applicants are as follows: Roosevelt requires applicants to attain a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 for at least 3 years of study. Self-reported information is accepted for most programs but an official transcript will be required if you are admitted to Roosevelt University. If you took dual enrollment classes at your local community college as part of your high school diploma, you will need to submit transcripts from your community college in addition to your high school transcripts. Roosevelt is test-optional. If you have taken the ACT or SAT we encourage you to send your scores, though these are not required for admission.
