What will I learn?

The MIS degree focuses on the business applications of information technology and data analytics. This includes emphasizing necessary skills required in the analysis, development and implementation of various information, communication and data analytics technologies critical in all organizations. MIS is a practical applied STEM-focused technical major that develops project and team-based skills essential for the professional world. The department is recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defender Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Entry requirements

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
