What will I learn?

Chemical engineering combines chemistry with biology, mathematics, physics and economics to solve problems and to find safe, efficient and environmentally benign development of such useful industrial processes and products as petroleum refining, materials processing, materials recycling, plastics, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, paints, electronic components and biotechnology. Graduates are employed in virtually every branch of chemical engineering, including the heavy chemicals industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the polymers industry and the food industry, to name a few. As undergraduates the students have the opportunity to participate in both summer internships and full co-op programs. Many of our graduates have been admitted into professional schools such as medical school, law school and dental school, as well as graduate school.
