Our program prepares you for a rewarding career in a growing and vibrant job sector. You’ll study complex environmental challenges, like pollution, climate change, and harmful waste. You’ll also develop potential sustainable solutions that can make a positive impact on our planet. Environmental Systems Science and Sustainability at Illinois State is an interdisciplinary program. You’ll take courses from a variety of areas at Illinois State. This exposes you to more perspectives, and gives you a deeper and engaging learning experience. Besides classroom learning, our program offers you real, hands-on experiences. You’ll work with the latest technology and learn in a professional lab setting. Many of our students go on field expeditions and conduct research across the world with faculty. You can also supplement your classroom learning with a professional internship.
