This 56-unit public health major gives you the space to double major or add a minor if you wish. Intern at a public health agency. Advance your professional development. You’ll graduate equipped and inspired to enter the public health workforce or apply to graduate school in public health and related fields.Conduct research, write an honors thesis, and present your findings in an oral presentation. In the Honors Concentration, you'll hone research, writing, critical thinking, and public speaking skills that you can apply to the workplace or graduate school. You will complete an additional eight units, or two courses, beyond the requirements of the major to earn the Honors distinction.The program provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to improve population health outcomes through careers in public health and prepare you for further professional training or graduate education in public health and related fields. You will develop your understanding and ability to identify social and structural determinants of public health, address health inequities, and promote health as a human right.
