What will I learn?

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of science that integrates the principals of mechanical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, telecommunications engineering, systems engineering and control engineering into a unified discipline while keeping the core mechanical and electrical engineering education. Robotics is a subset of mechatronics with elevated classes of mechatronics.

The Bachelor's of Science in Mechatronics and Robotics provides students with an interdisciplinary applied engineering education through industry oriented coursework and hands-on projects. Students will learn fundamental and applied concepts of real-world mechatronic and robotic systems, including robot design, interface theory, sensing and actuation systems, hardware and software integration, modeling and control

Entry requirements

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
