As a physics degree student at Lewis, you need to love math and experimentation. Because you will live in the lab. Building. Creating. Testing. Breaking new ground. A whole lot. High schools want you to teach the next generation of learners as the U.S. tries to take back the lead in the sciences .Research and development departments want you to help explore cutting-edge innovations like nanotechnology. Wall Street will try to steal you away to help them put together economic models. Or you can continue your studies in grad school. The B.S. degree gives students an excellent grounding in the fundamentals of physics with training in theoretical, computational, and experimental treatments of physics principles, phenomena, and applications. Students are also encouraged to get involved in research activities within the department. This program prepares students for entry into graduate programs in physics, astrophysics, medical physics, engineering, and other STEM fields. It also opens the door to a broad range of employment options in the both the public and private sectors, including employment in industry, in secondary education, and at national labs.
