What will I learn?

CCM’s Bachelor of Music in Harpsichord offers students the opportunity to hone technical expertise, musicianship and knowledge in the center of Cincinnati, a next-generation city revered for the arts. Prestigious faculty, performance opportunities and location in one of the country’s premier cities for the arts make this program the perfect choice for harpsichordists looking to maximize their talents and gain an incomparable musical and academic education.The performance-based curriculum includes weekly private lessons with faculty mentors, chamber music coaching and many opportunities to gain hands-on experience. Students become familiar with a range of repertoire by rehearsing and performing with multiple ensembles and presenting at least one solo recital. Students applying to the program should have a basic familiarity with figured bass continuo.In addition to unparalleled performance opportunities, BM Harpsichord students complete an intensive study of classical music literature and music theory and work closely with their faculty mentors, gaining the aptitude and experience to perform professionally. Our faculty of eminent artist-teachers offer students one-on-one attention and opportunities to perform in the tri-state region and around the world.

Entry requirements

For international students

Graduation from an accredited high school, generally in the top one-third of the graduating class. An official high school transcript must be submitted.CCM's admissions process begins on August 1 for entrance in the following year's fall semester. Applicants are encouraged to submit their pre-screening materials by November 1, but all application materials and pre-screening submissions must be received by December 1 (admissions application) and December 3 (pre-screening).English Proficiency
