What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Science in Media Studies and Journalism combines practical and theoretical studies for the media practitioner. It combines the pertinent courses of media studies and Journalism in a single, concentrated program of study. This BS degree teaches the skills and practices necessary for content production and distribution through various platforms.LearnStudents will learn how to create effective media messages, the skills needed for insightful and meaningful reporting, the historical and social significance of both media and journalism systems, and online platforms for distributing their content. The students learn to work as thoughtful observers of their world and become proficient with the technical tools to disseminate their stories and messages.OpportunitiesThe major has many opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, e.g., the Eastern Echo student paper, Eagle Radio and E-TV production labs, a required internship, and study abroad.
