What will I learn?

The Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Accompanying is offered through the piano division of the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art. Students perform in solo recitals, master classes, solo performances with orchestra, chamber music concerts, as accompanists for singers, and in many other capacities. The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art remains the preeminent Catholic center for music study in the United States and is internationally recognized for perpetuating the Church’s historical role in uplifting the human spirit through the study and performance of music. The music departments welcome applications from women and men of character, intelligence, motivation, and talent, regardless of race, creed, nationality, ethnic background, or disability.

Entry requirements

For international students

Acceptance as a graduate student by the Departments of Music is required. The applicant must have extensive performance and teaching experience after receiving a master's degree from an accredited institution in piano, vocal accompanying, or chamber music performance.

Acceptable Test Scores

TOEFL - 80 Internet (should have at least 20 out of 30 in each category); 550 Paper; 213 Computer.

IELTS - varies by program, generally around 6.5

Duolingo - 105

PTE - 58

Application deadlines: November 1- for Spring; July 1- for Fall.
