What will I learn?

Research projects in this area include energy efficient device architecture, optoelectronic devices, reconfigurable hardware, networks-on-chips, heterogeneous computing, future computing devices for late and post silicon technologies, and computing devices based on the emergent revolutionary paradigms of quantum computing and neuromorphic computing. In addition, this research includes emergent paradigms that blend computing and networking architectures together, as is the case with edge computing. A number of laboratories support the research activities in these areas as, for example, the Nanoelectronic Devices and Systems Laboratory, the High Performance Architectures Research (HiPer) Laboratory, and others more.

Hold a baccalaureate degree (or US equivalent) from an accredited university or college. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) is recommended. Submit a current resume or curriculum vitae. Submit a statement of purpose for research which will allow the Admissions Committee to learn the most about you as a prospective researcher. Submit two letters of recommendation. Entrance exam requirements: GRE optional but recommended
