What will I learn?

The 18-credit Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching is designed to provide advanced coursework and experiential learning opportunities to students who plan to pursue careers in teaching in higher education settings or who plan to pursue careers in other fields that may require similar facilitation skills. Students completing the Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching will receive a formal, transcript-visible credential. The certificate will be granted through the Graduate School. The Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching is designed to be completed in two years, and may be done in conjunction with a concurrent graduate degree or on its own as a standalone (without an accompanying graduate degree) certificate. There are two versions of the GCCUT program, one at the Oregon State Corvallis campus and the other through Oregon State Ecampus. Current Oregon State graduate students and prospective students who intend to complete the certificate as a standalone experience are eligible to apply.

Entry requirements

For international students

A four-year baccalaureate degree (or international equivalent), a professional degree (such as BPharm, BVsc, MBBS, MD, DVM, DPharm, etc.), or an appropriate U.S./Canadian alternative degree, from a regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, with a cumulative B average (equivalent 3.00 on a U.S. 4.00 grading scale) on the most recent baccalaureate degree or any subsequent graduate degree from a regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, plus all work completed thereafter.OR:A four-year baccalaureate degree (or international equivalent), a professional degree, or an appropriate U.S./Canadian alternative degree, from an regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, and a 45-quarter credit equivalent graduate degree from a regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, with a cumulative B average (equivalent 3.00 on a U.S. 4.00 grading scale) on the most recent graduate degree.
