Address the forms, consequences and impact of diversity in modern society. Coursework also evaluates the social benefits of diversity and the individual, interactional, and stuctural factors that link it to enduring forms of social inequality.Program Learning Outcomes -Utilize social science data to document patterns of social inequality across a wide variety of social identity categories.Demonstrate cross-cultural understanding and intercultural awareness.Recognize patterns of prejudice and discrimination and features of social environments that can exacerbate or improve social inequality.Appreciate the impact of diverse social identities on individual well-being and life chances.Apply the sociological imagination to the study of diversity and social inequality.

To be admitted to the program, students must first be accepted into the WSU Graduate School. At a minimum, applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
