What will I learn?

Saint Louis University's accelerated Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences-Health Information Management/Master of Science in Health Data Science is designed for students who demonstrate academic success in health information management and related coursework. The concentration in health information management (HIM) blends the study of medical sciences, information technology, legal concepts and health care management. Students in the HIM program learn the nuances of health care delivery, health care data, data management, health information technology and medical-legal aspects of health care. This knowledge establishes a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing an M.S. in Health Data Science.

Entry requirements

For international students

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
  • Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with Saint Louis University and the Doisy College of Health Sciences.
  • Students must be in their sixth semester of collegiate study and on the accelerated HIM to HDS track and submit a letter of HDS interest to the HIM program.
  • Students will substitute designated graduate HDS courses for undergraduate HIM courses in the seventh and eighth semesters.
  • In the eighth semester, the student will apply to the HDS program.
  • Accepted students will continue M.S. in HDS graduate coursework in the summer semester after graduating with a B.S in HIM
