The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites you to explore the program leading to M.S. degree in electrical engineering program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.The objective of the graduate electrical engineering program at A&M-Kingsville is to produce graduates with broad and up-to-date knowledge, skills and judgment, prepared for professional careers in industry and/or further studies that emphasize advanced design, development and research methods.Electrical engineering (EE) is one of the fastest growing disciplines in science and engineering disciplines. Modern electrical engineering has shown strong combination of traditional electrical engineering with computer engineering in both computer hardware and software, resulting in many positions opening to electrical engineers. Electrical engineering graduates usually command higher starting salaries. Some of the more common of these are: artificial intelligence, communication engineers, computer engineers, computer vision, control engineers, power engineers, instrumentation engineers, digital design engineers, and robotics.The Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives are:Our graduates will be capable of pursuing professional careers and/or advanced studies.Our graduates will pursue state-of-the art solutions to engineering problems and evaluate/embrace new technologies.Our graduates will exhibit personal commitment to continuous learning, high ethical standards, sound business decisions, and engineering excellence.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to the program requires a baccalaureate degree with adequate course work in the field of interest and a score of at least 284 (verbal plus quantitative) on the GRE Aptitude Test with an undergraduate grade point average of a 3.0 or better, or a GRE of 294 (verbal plus quantitative) with an undergraduate grade point average of 2.6 to 2.99. The minimum score required is a 6.0 overall band score. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79 (Internet-based) or 550(Paper-based) is the university minimum requirement for all Graduate students.
