About this course

What will I learn?

This 36-credit program is designed to develop teachers to become leaders in the field of literacy and reading and is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education for a second Endorsement/ Certification license: Reading Specialist and Supervisor Certificate. Candidates are required to have two (2) years successful teaching to earn Reading Specialist Endorsement/Certification and three (3) years to earn Supervisor Certification.

For international students

All candidates who submit the following documents will be accepted as matriculated students in the M.A. for Certified Teachers in Education (M.A.C.T.) program:

  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions.
  • Standard Teacher License or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.

English proficiency: TOEFL IBT 60; IELTS - 5.5; ITEP - 3.5; Pearsons PTE-A – 50.

Application Deadlines: Fall (August) Semester: July 1, Spring (January) Semester: December 1, Summer semester (limited programs): May 1.
