What will I learn?

Our graduate-level public relations concentration is geared towards helping practitioners advance in the field. Our students dive into theory, case studies and research to help them better communicate on behalf of their organizations and strengthen relationships with its stakeholders. Our curriculum gives special emphasis to management issues relevant to products, services, image, and public policy.In particular, our public relations students study the following:How to conduct better research that draws deeper real world insightsIssues concerning digital culture and the rise of social mediaThe ubiquity of social media and its impact on communitiesHow staffing, budgeting and campaign management differ on the corporate, association, union and non profit public relations levels.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered eligible for unconditional admittance, the student must:Have earned a Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field from an accredited institution,Have a minimum 3.0/4.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) in the last 60 undergraduate hours attempted, andHave competitive scores on the GRE which are historically 153 or higher for the verbal portion, 153 or higher for math/quantitative portion in the current scoring system, and a 3.5 on the writing portion.International students currently enrolled in an MA program with which we have an MOU may waive the GRE requirement.
