Two years of in-depth study of Latin American, Spanish and U.S. Latino literatures, cultures, and linguistics allow students to develop expertise in critical reading, writing and thinking regarding a wide variety of areas. Our M.A. program offers students the foundations they need to continue with doctoral studies, assists them in connecting with current scholarly trends in the field, helps them gain advanced knowledge and critical skills that will expand their career opportunities in a global market, and provides them with teaching and research opportunities that can expand their international perspective. A wide variety of course are taught by our faculty with a diversity of research and teaching interestes. All are both nationally and internationally recognized scholars in their fields and are passionate about contributing to the students' intellectual growth and academic success. Outstanding applicants to the M.A. program in Spanish are offered Teaching Assistantships that provide valuable classroom experience to graduate students.
