Our graduate business degree programs are taught by leading Stony Brook faculty. Our dedicated faculty has both academic and business experience, and teaches not only the broad principles of management, finance, and marketing but also the more intangible aspects of leadership, communications, and business strategy. The College of Business offers an MBA in Finance Degree. This degree prepares students, who may or may not have a background in business, for careers in financial management of businesses, health care organizations, government agencies, and non-profit enterprises. The degree will equip students with broad skills and knowledge in business, accounting, marketing, operations, management, and leadership and allows for 5 classes in the finance area. The MBA in Finance places an emphasis on developing financial analytical skills. There are many opportunities for graduates, including financial analyst, portfolio manager, investment banker and corporate financial associate.

Entry requirements

For international students

A. A bachelors degree in one of the earth or space sciences or in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or engineering.

B. A minimum average of B for all undergraduate coursework and a B average for courses in the sciences.

C. Results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test.

D. Acceptance by both the Department and the Graduate School.

In special cases, a student not meeting requirements A and B may be admitted on a conditional basis. Upon admission, the student will be informed of the requirements that must be satisfied for termination of this status.
