All candidates must have a BA/BFA/BS or equivalent international degree.Official transcript of all previous college or university workThe Intermedia Program normally accepts applications for both the MA and MFA in the winter of each year (December through February) for the following fall semester. Admission to the program is based on acceptance by the UMaine Graduate School and a faculty review of all required application materials. Applicants must have a bachelors degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of upper-division coursework. In addition to general admission procedures, application to the Intermedia Program at the University of Maine requires submission of a portfolio of creative work in one, or several fields and a creative statement. The portfolio should represent either the past professional or creative work of the applicant and should give evidence of the applicants maturity, imagination and skill as well as demonstrate her or his potential for advanced graduate level study in creative areas.Creative Statement / Essay (500 word max submitted via Graduate school application link above)-Resume / CV (submitted via Graduate school application link above) -Three letters of recommendation (submitted via Graduate school application link above)-Transcripts from all post secondary schooling (submitted via Graduate school application link above)-Portfolio of creative work / research. A graduate portfolio consists of 15-20 pieces of original work/art. The works can be in any medium or materials. Documentation should be of professional quality, and provide a clear representation of your processes of physical production as well as of implementation of concepts. The portfolio works should support the ideas and purposes communicated through your letter of admission. For the Admissions Committee, the portfolio is the equivalent of the entrance examinations that other academic areas often require.
