What will I learn?

The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree at Ball State University is the only professionally accredited MLA program in Indiana. Our nationally recognized MLA program is committed to preparing professionals and leaders with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to respond to significant environmental, social, and public health challenges. Our graduates assume the roles of steward, designer, and problem-solver who make positive and measurable differences everywhere. The world needs more people like you to become an influential landscape architect. We intentionally designed three different programs of study known as Tracks. Our MLA program is open to anyone with a bachelor’s degree who meets some minimum qualifications. Below you can learn more about the Track most suitable for you. MLA Track 1 - 3 years. Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for regular admission for a licensure, graduate certificate, or master's degree program, you must meet one of the criteria below - earned a minimum of a 2.75 GPA from your undergraduate degree-granting institution. Earned at least 9 graduate credit hours with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Have a conferred master's or doctoral degree from an institution recognized by an USDE accrediting association.The Master of Landscape Architecture program is open to anyone who holds a bachelor's degree - no prior education in landscape architecture required.Our program allows students the opportunity to be considered for earned admission. This option is available to students whose GPA from their degree-granting institution is less than 2.75 but who have provided sufficient evidence of academic and/or professional achievement to indicate their potential for success in a graduate program. Additional application materials may be requested to be considered. Students admitted on a probationary status must earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their first 9 semester credits of graduate work or be academically dismissed. MLA Track 1 - 3 years - Anyone with a bachelor's degree in any field of study or changing careers is encouraged to apply. MLA Track 2 - 2.5 years - Anyone with a bachelor's degree in an environmental planning or design field is encouraged to apply. MLA Track 3 - 1 years - Anyone with an accredited Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree is encouraged to apply.
