What will I learn?

The master of music is designed as a two-year program that offers in-depth study for students highly gifted in music performance, music education, music theory, composition, or research. Students seeking this degree are required to complete 30-32 hours of course work, culminating in a creative project, recital, research paper, or thesis near the end of their degree work. This degree plan requires an audition or portfolio review for admission all students are also required to complete a master’s oral exit exam in their final semester.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for regular admission for a licensure, graduate certificate, or master's degree program, you must meet one of the criteria below - earned a minimum of a 2.75 GPA from your undergraduate degree-granting institution. Earned at least 9 graduate credit hours with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Have a conferred master's or doctoral degree from an institution recognized by an USDE accrediting association.
