What will I learn?

The University of Houston offers several masters level programs in the chemical engineering discipline tailored for the working professional. Your interest may be to gain advanced training in process engineering, or to carry out research in advanced materials, bioengineering or, catalysis, or to take a smaller group of specialized courses to give you a competitive edge. Whatever your interest, the University of Houston’s Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering has it for you. Many of the courses are taught in the later afternoon or evening and research projects can be conducted in the evening and weekends. This course based program is offered full- time or part-time, and intended for students with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent). This program focuses on advanced engineering fundamentals. Students with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or related field must obtain 30 credit hours (10 courses) of core and elective courses to obtain a course-based M.S. degree. No financial aid is offered for M.S. students.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students with BS in chemical engineering.
Minimum undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (based on 4.0); accepted students typically are in the top 10% of class (3.35 or better based on 4.0)
Accepted students typically have total GRE score 300 or better (Quantitative of 155 or better).
