What will I learn?

The data science in biomedicine track is offered under the computer science master of science degree program for students who choose Plan I - Thesis. Data science has emerged as an essential complement to scientific discovery with a widespread and growing set of applications in almost all disciplines, including biomedicine, health informatics, precision and personalized medicine, business analytics, intelligent transportation, cybersecurity and more. Students who choose this track will adopt biomedical applications of data science to learn data science methodologies and technologies. Graduates of this master of science track will have an official designation of data science training within their degree, which will help with employment and other opportunities.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants should hold a bachelors degree (or equivalent) with sufficient computing and mathematical foundations. Statement of purpose – must be an original essay submitted with application. Scanned copies will not be accepted for submission. Resume – must be submitted with application. Official transcripts – we require one official copy of each previous transcript. Send e-transcripts to the Graduate School. Letters of recommendation – two letters of recommendation are required for all programs except Biomedical Engineering (which requires three) and Electrical Engineering (for which letters are not required for internal applicants and are optional for external applicants). Official GRE scores – the college has removed the evaluation of GRE scores for admission decisions. If choosing to submit, send scores officially through ETS using code -4875. Preferred minimum score of 300 PLUS
