What will I learn?

Crime analysts possess a specific set of skills and knowledge that go beyond what is gained through the general Masters in Criminal Justice. Students learn specific analytic and methodological techniques used by crime analysts and gain the qualifications necessary to be successful in any crime analysis position. As a student, you will learn to:Apply appropriate research methods and criminological theories to crime problemsunderstand crime patterns, crime mapping, and common crime analytic techniquespossess the knowledge base necessary to collect, manage, and analyze crime dataevaluate crime data to determine patterns and create appropriate responses.

Entry requirements

For international students

Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in criminal justice, a related social science, or other relevant educational experience. Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 (for good-standing admission). Two letters of recommendation from those familiar with the applicants academic record and suitability for graduate work. Its recommended that applicants have completed a research methods course and a statistics course at the undergraduate level prior to beginning the program. You must have attended this institution for at least one year and the degree was earned at an institution in the United States, and you have lived and worked continuously in the U.S since earning the degree. Cambridge English: Advanced / Cambridge English Proficiency C1 level or higher. TOEFL IBT (not Home Edition) - 79 – 120, IELTS - 6.5 – 9.0.
