What will I learn?

Our Master of Science degree in Human Sciences has a concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics. This program is designed for students who want to complete this degree, and who also want to be eligible to take the credentialing exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).ASENDThe Nutrition and Dietetics Concentration with the Human Sciences master’s program is the advanced study of food and nutrition and their effects on diet, health, and disease. Our graduate program emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, along with primary and/or ambulatory health care. Also, we are fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).The Dietetic Internship program is a 12-MONTH experience offered in conjunction with a Master of Science degree in Human Sciences is for those students interested in becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). Graduates are empowered with additional education and 1200 hours of supervised practice necessary to successfully pass the credentialing exam to become an RDN.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need to have Transcripts from high school and/or college. At SIU Carbondale, applicants for admission will be eligible for automatic admission if they are on track to complete our course pattern requirements and who meet one of the following criteria: A cumulative high school GPA of 2.75; A ranking in the top 10% of their graduating class.

English Language Requirement: Any one of the following methods will automatically meet the minimum English requirement. Applicants who do not meet the automatic English language admission requirement will undergo a holistic review to determine potential admissibility.
