What will I learn?

Information technology continues to transform every aspect of our economy and society. The rapid spread of technology has generated the need for highly trained professionals to implement and maintain information systems to support business success. Our master of science in information science and technology (M.S. IST) will teach you how to design, develop and apply information systems in organizations and businesses.Research will be integrated into your classroom experience, with specially equipped labs and classrooms-including the Laboratory for Information Technology Evaluation-available to support research studies in areas such as human-computer interaction and enterprise resource planning.You can choose to take your classes in-person on the Missouri S&T campus or online from anywhere in the country using our state-of-the-art virtual classrooms. Our online graduate degree programs are considered among the best in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. This degree program can be completed in 12 to 24 months if taken full-time, or in 24 to 36 months if taken part-time.

Entry requirements

For international students

Letters of recommendation (general requirements listed below, individual programs may vary) 0 for non-thesis masters programs 2 for thesis masters programs 3 for PhD and DE programs Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of application. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous universitys registrar's office. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future. A statement of purpose (personal statement) of 1,000 words or less on why you are interested in the program A resume or curriculum vitae.
