S&T’s nuclear engineering graduate program is here to help you achieve your goals Engage in productive analysis and criticism of your own and others’ research during your graduate studies. As a nuclear engineer, you will develop and promote the use of energy released from nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, and radioactive material. Nuclear power plants operating in the United States produce about 20% of our nation's electricity. Nuclear power technology produces about 60% of our nation’s carbon-free electricity, reduces the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide significantly, and contributes to a cleaner environment. The same technology supports propulsion of US military submarines and aircraft carriers. Radioactive materials are also used in medicine for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Entry requirements

For international students

Letters of recommendation (general requirements listed below, individual programs may vary) 0 for non-thesis masters programs 2 for thesis masters programs 3 for PhD and DE programs Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of application. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous universitys registrar's office. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future. A statement of purpose (personal statement) of 1,000 words or less on why you are interested in the program A resume or curriculum vitae.
