What will I learn?

Our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program offers a pathway to teaching for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree but have little or no experience in education. The MAT in Spanish, offered by the Watson College of Education in partnership with UNCW’s College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (CHSSA), will prepare you to teach Spanish in K-12 schools. The 33-hour program is offered on-campus and online.

Entry requirements

For international students

Bachelors degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited college or university completed before graduate study begins. Undergraduate overall GPA of 3.0 or better is recommended.

Minimum Score Requirement – TOEFL: 79; IELTS: minimum of 6.5 for acceptance, 7.0 for TA consideration; Duolingo: minimum of 115.
