Hi, I am an Indian student doing BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) which is a 3 year Bachelor's degree. I plan to study Masters in Computer science from Germany and I have been researching since the past few weeks to understand the process. I checked the DAAD website and I understand that a 3-year bachelors degree like mine is accepted for certain Master degree programs in Germany. My University (IGNOU) is a UGC recognised Open University and funded by the Central Government of India. Though my University is an open/distance learning University, Anabin database recognises it with an H+ status. So do German universities accept a bachelors degree from an open university like IGNOU? So, I would highly appreciate if someone could shed some light on my situation and let me know whether my qualification allows me to apply for Master degree programs in Germany. Kindly offer your thoughts Thank you

Hi Abhishek,

Thank you for your query.

I would like to inform you that  German Universities prefer 4 years Regular Bachelor's degree from a recognized university/ Institution. Some Universities may accept 3 years bachelors but again regular studies are most preferred and have better chances of admission and VISA approval. Rest you can specifically write to particular universities to check your degree and University's eligibility. Please feel free to contact us for any further query which you may have. you can contact me on va-counselors@idp.com.
