This scholarship aims to honour Kathryn’s legacy by promoting equity in education and helping to eliminate barriers to accessing tertiary education for students.

NZ $10,000 annually will be split between four domestic or international learners (NZ $2500 per student) for three years from 2025 to 2028.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be enrolled full-time or part-time* in a Level 3 or above programme at an Ara campus in Christchurch or Timaru
  • Be able to demonstrate how your experiences with challenges (of any sort, for example financial, ethnicity or learning difficulties) impact on achieving your educational goals

*Learners studying full-time will receive the full $2500 while learners studying part-time will receive a proportion of the $2500, equal to the level of their part-time enrolment.
