The Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for International Students celebrates and welcomes international students to the University of Otago | ?t?kou Whakaihu Waka, as valued members of our University community and is awarded to support students to pursue their academic goals.

General eligibility criteria

Application for this Entrance Scholarship is open to all international students who have completed secondary (high) school, or at another approved institution that grants University Entrance either overseas or within New Zealand.

And

Are intending to enrol or have enrolled in full-time undergraduate degree-level study, or in an approved foundation diploma programme, with the objective of progressing into an undergraduate degree at the University of Otago | ?t?kou Whakaihu Waka.

Specific eligibility criteria for this scholarship

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, applicants must be:

  • Intending to study at the University of Otago | ?t?kou Whakaihu Waka from 100-level (first year) through to degree* attainment;
  • Studying on campus throughout the duration of their studies.

Application details (from the awarding institution)

For those who have completed secondary school or Foundation level study in New Zealand, applications can be submitted through the online Entrance Scholarship application. Applicants must complete the first stages of enrolment through the student management system (eVision) during the Entrance Scholarship application period 1 July to 15 August.

For those applying with a study background outside of New Zealand, every eligible applicant must indicate in their application for study, through the student management system (eVision), that they would like to be considered for international scholarships at the University of Otago | ?t?kou Whakaihu Waka.
