Am I eligible?
To qualify for an undergraduate low-income support award, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Have a family income below £35,000 (or £29,500 for a single person)
  • Not be in receipt of a tuition fee loan and maintenance loan from Student Finance England.

Annual family income

  • Students with an annual family income of £21,000 or below receive £2,000 applied to their student account along with an additional £1,000, giving them a maximum total scholarship entitlement of £3,000.
  • Those with an income greater than £21,000 and up to £25,000 are awarded £1,500 plus an additional £1,000, resulting in a total entitlement of £2,500.
  • Students whose family income is greater than £25,000 and up to £35,000 receive £1,000 along with an additional £1,000, making their maximum entitlement £2,000.

To qualify for a scholarship based on academic achievement or your potential enhanced contribution to the mission of London School of Theology (both undergraduate and postgraduate), please use the Statement of Support and Other Information sections of the application to describe your reasons. For these awards the amounts will vary depending on the level of academic ability / the recommendation of the programme leader of the programme / course you have applied for, and the number of successful applications received.

Selection criteria

Scholarships are available for new full and part-time students. For multi-year awards, payment of scholarship money after the first year is dependent on satisfactory academic performance.

To qualify for a postgraduate financial need-based award slightly different criteria are considered, and the committee will decide on an amount based on the individual’s disclosed circumstances. Please use the Statement of Support section of the application to describe your financial situation.
